LOT has launched three new routes from Kraków. The capital of Małopolska has thus gained new flights to key cities in southwestern Europe—Rome, Barcelona, and Madrid—thereby improving the region’s connectivity.

“Krakow is an important hub on our route map—strong in business and attractive to tourists. The city’s dynamic growth translates into a growing demand for direct flights, supporting business opportunities and international cooperation. The launch of flights to Rome, Barcelona, and Madrid expands LOT’s existing connecting flight offerings to these destinations and marks another step in strengthening LOT Polish Airlines’ presence in the region,” said Robert Ludera, Executive Vice President for Commercial Affairs at LOT Polish Airlines.

The first flights on all three routes took off on March 30, 2026, opening up new travel opportunities from Małopolska to key European cities, both for tourism and business.

“We are very pleased with the dynamic growth of the base carrier, LOT Polish Airlines, at Kraków Airport, which translates into an impressive 44% increase. This is the result not only of expanding the range of sunny destinations—such as Madrid, Barcelona, and Rome—but also of consistently strengthening domestic connections. As a result, in addition to flights to Warsaw and Olsztyn-Mazury Airport, the offering is being expanded to include a seasonal flight to Gdańsk, which is a particularly attractive option for families. LOT Polish Airlines is also expanding its network of European and long-haul routes, offering flights to destinations such as Paris, Istanbul, New York, and Chicago, where the number of flights during the Summer 2026 season will increase to five per week. “I am certain that the significant expansion of LOT Polish Airlines’ base at Kraków Airport is good news both for passengers and for the entire region, which is gaining increasingly better transport connectivity and new opportunities for development,” said Łukasz Strutyński, President of the Management Board of John Paul II International Airport Kraków-Balice.

Krakow-Rome Route

LOT Polish Airlines operates flights on the Krakow-Rome route up to five times a week during the summer season and up to four times a week during the winter season.

Krakow-Barcelona Route

The Krakow-Barcelona route is served up to four times a week during both the summer and winter seasons.

Kraków-Madrid route

Flights on the Kraków-Madrid route operate up to six times a week year-round. Current information, including operating days and flight times, is available in booking systems and on lot.com.

More routes, larger scale of operations

In the 2026 summer season, LOT Polish Airlines will offer up to 11 destinations from the capital of Małopolska, expanding its operations with the addition of a Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The expanded route network and increased number of flights significantly strengthen the carrier’s offering in the region.

The expansion of LOT’s route network improves the region’s connectivity, enhances the travel experience, and opens up new business opportunities. At the same time, it strengthens Kraków Airport’s position as one of the key airports in Central and Eastern Europe.
